As a child, Markus always found himself drawn to the different architecture and art that he encountered during his family’s many travels. He discovered his technical skill and inclination through his own independent constructions. After passing the Abitur (German A-levels) and completing civil service, he studied product design at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar – where he graduated in 2006. He gained practical experience in conceiving and developing his design aesthetic under the guidance of Prof. Axel Kufus’s design studio and at Studio Aisslinger. He honed his graphic expertise with the corporate information designers, Moniteurs. He has continued to explore and expand upon his drawing skills since studying at university. Today, Markus J. Becker lives and works as a visual artist and designer in both Berlin and Dublin.
